Internal Medicine

Department of Internal Medicine

Internists are Physicians who combine the science of laboratory medicine with accessible patient care. They are considered to be the backbone of the entire range of medical specialities. They deal with prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all diseases in the adult population. We are a group of experienced physicians capable of providing cross-speciality care across a wide spectrum of diseases.

They are considered the cohesive forces between the various specialists and strive for the complete and comprehensive care of the patients. Their role at the nodal point of contact for all patients is something which is pivotal in any hospital and they aspire to excel in the Oslerian principle of treating their patients with a “clear head and a kind heart”.

Internists are much focused on evidence-based medicine which allows them to critically appraise diagnostic and treatment options while reflecting on our ability to provide cost-effective care to their ageing population.
